Sheds.

The shed is the domain of the masculine in the domestic, the place he goes to escape the femininity of the rest. It is here that man exercises his masculinity, and the inherent contradiction that comes with it; the perception of male as protector/builder and simultaneously the pervert, the threat. While it is clear there are good men and bad, a shed does not distinguish, it is both halves of man. It can contain an extensive model train set and perhaps a few carefully secreted porn mags, or the walls could be plastered with pictures of the girl next door changing, taken with a telescopic photo-lens. The shed does not judge, a man’s shed is his own. If an Englishman’s home is his castle then the shed is his keep, the last bastion of his protection, it is sacred. Do not enter uninvited. 8440243687_8002709752_h
