A cupboard is normally where things get stored, bits of piece which are unwanted, but are unwilling to be thrown away by their owners. A place to hide things. Secrets, toys, clothes…
But what is hiding in our cupboard? Such a strange height and size to be found in the master bedroom. It doesn’t start at the floor like a wardrobe would do. It’s deep, so was not used for storing menial, small things. There are two built-in shelves, set right at the back of the space, but which seem useless as they are too far back to be easily reached.
In this intimate space. Our cupboard. You will see us as we are, nothing to hide behind. We are not hidden away…at least not in the conventional sense.
What happens when your most intimate aspects are put on display in a place where things are normally meant to be hidden away? Things that are usually forgot about placed in full view, and presented to you.
What will you find in our cupboard? Disgust, honestly, brutality…or perhaps happiness?
